Capoeira Advert
What's this project?
I was asked to create a postcard style leaflet advertising Capoeira lessons. There is a lot of history in this Afro-Brazilian art form that I wanted to incorporate. as well as this, the client indicated they wanted the design to be bold, easy to read and follow the roots of the sport. The main colour theme was blue, which was indicated in the logo. However the client requested bold shapes and colours that were indicative of the Brazilian culture, so while focusing on the blue for the main image, I chose to add the additional colours to a pattern which enhanced the the design.
I also updated the logo to include the locations of the clasees and the instructors name as they asked. The QR code takes you to their website which shows the times and places where they can find the lessons closest to them. As a postcard is relatively small I wanted to make this a large portion of the back page for ease of access.
This was a fun project dealing with lots of colour and fun imagery, the hierarchy, imagery and illustration where an interesting mix which enjoyed working with.
